Anthony Schwartz, Ph.D. is a serial biotech founder and operator with nearly two decades of experience building and leading companies across oncology, rare disease, and longevity. A bioengineer by training (Ph.D.; NIH/NCI postdoctoral fellow), he is also a Johns Hopkins University faculty member. Over his career he has been part of over 20 startups and held founder, CEO, and operating roles at numerous biotechnology companies and venture funds, helping to secure major financings and advance assets to FDA approval. He co-founded ARTAN Bio and serves as its Chief Operating Officer, driving operations and execution as the platform advances toward the clinic.

Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

Michael is a serial biotech entrepreneur and drug developer. He co-founded ReCode Therapeutics, the clinical-stage genetic-medicines company built on the SORT lipid-nanoparticle delivery platform (raising more than $450M), and went on to found and lead CrossBridge Bio, advancing a next-generation dual-payload antibody-drug conjugate from a university license to a $300M acquisition by Eli Lilly in under three years on roughly $10M raised. He co-founded ARTAN Bio and serves as Chief Scientific Officer and is the lead investor in the company’s seed round.

Brian earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the university’s NCI-designated cancer center, giving him a research-grade command of the science that he pairs with broad experience across life-science commercial markets. As Chief Executive Officer, he leads ARTAN Bio’s translation from discovery toward the clinic, working alongside co-founders Michael Torres and Anthony Schwartz to connect the platform’s biology to the indications, partners, and markets it can serve.
